I know this is sort of off the wall, but in case you are looking for a sippy that is not plastic there are now kleancanteens that you can buy. They are a bit out of our price range, but definitely thinking GREEN. We all rely so heavily on plastics and all the talk of BPA (whatever that is) ... is something to think about atleast.
